Gramatik (9/15/13)

George's Majestic Lounge has played  host to heaps of memorable events over the years, and with such an illustrious history, it's no surprise. Established in 1927, George's holds the title as the oldest and longest-running club and live music venue in the entire state of Arkansas. Located in the heart of Fayetteville, Arkansas, deep in Hog Country, George's stage has seen electronic music acts such as Adventure Club, Big Gigantic, Zoogma, Lotus, GRiZ, EOTO, Paper Diamond, Mimosa, Cherub, The Glitch Mob, BUKU, Pretty Lights, and Bassnectar to name a few. Owner Brian Crowne knows talent when he hears it, so it's no shock he asked Gramatik and friends to return only 5 months after selling out the venue in April.

September 15th marked another sold out event for George's as the floor was packed with fans eager to dance the night away with EXMAG, HeRobust, and Gramatik. The crowd roared with excitement as the lights danced across the room and five friends took the stage. Funk soul instrumentals echoed across the walls with a groovy drumbeat and sensual synths causing a sway and bob that no one could resist. As if the night wasn't already sensual enough a special guest, Gibbz, arrived to help with their new single "Tilt Mode." With the crowd singing along, you could see the shock and excitement EXMAG shared as they realized the success of their new track released only days prior. As the night moved on, the crowd geared up to move from a funky fresh jam to an intense energy trap blasting party.

As Denis Jasarevic and Eric Mendelsohn, whom together comprise Gramatik, took the stage George's Majestic Lounge erupted in a commotion heard beyond the walls and into the streets. Those outside trying to cool off quickly rushed inside gazing at the stage in wonder ready to receive a gift their eardrums could only wiggle in excitement for. Funk, soul, hip-hop, and break beats all colliding in a sinfully delicious sound that had the room unified in one massive movement of dance. People shed their exterior lives, the hours of the day that had preceded this moment, lost in the music and left with nothing but the emotion it evoked and the movement it generated within them. It was yet another prodigious evening for George's Majestic Lounge and one that certainly won't be forgotten.

Fans lined the railing wearing HeRobust tanks and clearing room in anticipation of the booty bumpin' beats about to ensue. Anyone who has witnessed a HeRobust set can tell you he brings massive amounts of energy, but on this particular night management was concerned the riser he was performing on couldn't hold up. Massive bass, and high intensity trap beats had everyone moving, grooving, and shakin' what their mama gave them the entire time. The air was thick with heat from bodies in motion, sweat dripping from those truly breaking it down, people shedding clothes just to cool off for a brief moment all in the name of dance. Admirers cheered with joy as HeRobust thanked them for an amazing night, and promoted the final act for the evening Gramatik.
